Bethel Area District Exchange & Food Pantry Announces New Building Purchase

Significant fundraising and renovation will need to be completed before doors can open A8er serving Western Mainers at 16 Church St in Bethel for the past 8 years, the Bethel Area Food Pantry is relocating. The local nonprofit has purchased the building at 279 Walkers Mills Road thanks to crucial federal and state grants, and is currently in the midst of launching a substanial fundraising effort to complete the renovations necessary to open its doors.

“I am excited to finally get the Food Pantry and the soon-to-reopen District Exchange back under one roof again. The newly purchased building needs work to get it up to code and restructuring to suit the needs of both of our nonprofits. We will be relying heavily on help from local contractors, community support, and fundraising to complete this project and get our new doors open to the community,” says Dave Bean, Executive Director of the 501c3 nonprofit.

The Bethel Area District Exchange & Food Pantry has been feeding and clothing Western Mainers for 32 years and is committed to expanding our support of Oxford County, Maine and beyond.
